Project Rescue
Are your projects running late?
What are project delays and reduced outcomes really costing you?
How important is it for you to build the capability of your team to run successful projects?
Together we can transform your people and projects and establish a high performing agile team and build a path for sustainable project excellence.
Nicknamed ‘The Project Fixer’ Deborah has been invited over the past 25 years to help get ‘runaway train’ projects back on track.
One of Deborah’s favourite question to ask is;
“Why is there never enough money to set the project up right first time but always enough to re-do it?”
The key to a successful project, program or even an activity is to establish a solid foundation from the beginning. Strong leadership and relationship management are key to success. Unfortunately this doesn't always happen and projects experience costly delays and rework resulting in dissatisfied customers, lost productivity and potential repetitional risk.
It’s important to engage the right people ensuring they are working on the right things at the right time. Then lead the team and stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes.

Project rescue is a personalised program where Deborah, a highly experienced Senior Project Manager and leader for more than 25 years, works with you and your team to transform your projects by establishing a high performing agile team and building a path for sustainable project excellence.
Project Rescue while flexible in its approach begins with a strategy call to discuss the core issues and agree the desired outcomes and success criteria. This is followed by 3 key phases aimed at bringing the project back on track and building team capability for the future.
Step 1: Project Success Fundamentals Workshop
Principle team members and essential stakeholders attend a workshop to work through the following (as relevant):
-
Ensure the vision for the project / program is well defined and supported
-
Define / review the success criteria
-
Agree the guiding principles for the project
-
Agree the governance and reporting structure
-
Identify key milestones, risks and mitigation solutions
-
Identify the right experts who need to be involved
-
Identify the high level change impact
-
Identify budget restraints and opportunities
Desired Outcome: Project is redefined for deliverability including resourcing, timing and success criteria
Step 2: Opportunity Work
The organisation is then invited to allocate time and resources to complete the following actions as relevant and as agreed in the fundamentals workshop:
-
Engagement / reengagement and onboarding of the desired resources
-
Onboard / reengage / revatalise the governance committee
-
Complete / revise the Project Management Plan and any other relevant project documentation
Desired Outcome: Actions from the fundamentals workshop are implemented and the team are ready to proceed with the revised project direction.
Step 3: Project Guidance & Leadership
Project guidance and leadership is completely flexible and is tailored to suit the needs of the organisation. The amount of support and guidance required for each program or project varies and this is discussed and agreed with the project executive.
As a general approach, once the phase 2 actions have been completed, Deborah will reconvene with the project executives and agree the approach to the following (as relevant):
-
Supporting the Project Manager and team
-
Supporting the Governance board in the application of their duties
-
Improve leadership capability
-
Ensure team cohesiveness
-
Establish an agile way of working to maintain momentum and accountability
-
Ensure the right resources are working on the right things at the right time
Desired Outcome: A continuous improvement project support plan is identified, approved and activated.
